Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last updated: 5 August 2026

  1. ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Summer’s Mobile Hairdressers is a mobile hairdressing business based in Brockworth, Gloucestershire. I provide services at clients’ homes and other agreed locations. These terms apply to consultations, cutting, styling, colouring, braiding, hair extensions, bridal, occasion and festival hair, and any related products or services I agree to provide.
    Contact: summershairdressers@outlook.com | +44 7337 153269

  2. BOOKINGS AND YOUR CONTRACT
You can request an appointment by WhatsApp, telephone, social media or email. A booking is confirmed only when I have confirmed the service, date, time, location and price or pricing basis, and any required deposit or booking payment has been received. Please check the confirmation and tell me promptly if anything is incorrect.
The terms in force when your booking is confirmed will apply to that booking. If a quotation is based on information or photographs that later prove incomplete or inaccurate, I will explain any necessary change to the service or price before proceeding.

  3. CONSULTATIONS, DISCLOSURE AND PATCH TESTS
You must tell me before the appointment about allergies, sensitivities, scalp or skin conditions, medication, pregnancy, previous reactions, recent colour or chemical treatments, metallic salts, henna, extensions, or anything else that may affect safe treatment.
Where a manufacturer’s instructions, professional assessment or insurer requires a skin, strand or patch test, it must be completed within the stated timeframe. I may refuse or alter a colour, chemical or extension service if a required test has not been completed, the result is unsuitable, or the service cannot safely be carried out. A negative test reduces risk but cannot guarantee that no reaction will occur.
Do not attend if you have a contagious condition or infestation that could place anyone at risk. I may stop or refuse a service for genuine health, hygiene or safety reasons.

  4. PRICES, TRAVEL AND PAYMENT
Prices shown online are guides unless stated as fixed. Your confirmed price will reflect the agreed service, hair length, thickness and condition, time required, products, extension hair and travel. Any optional extra charge will be explained and agreed before it is incurred.
I normally cover Brockworth and surrounding areas within approximately 10–15 miles. Travel outside this area may be accepted and may carry an agreed fee.
Unless agreed otherwise, the remaining balance is due when the service is completed. Late or failed payments may be pursued using lawful recovery methods, but I will not add charges that have not been clearly agreed or that are disproportionate.

  5. DEPOSITS, EXTENSION HAIR AND SPECIALLY ORDERED ITEMS
A deposit or advance payment may be required, particularly for bridal, festival, colour and extension bookings. It will be deducted from the final price.
If you cancel, I will only retain or charge an amount that fairly reflects my actual direct loss, such as reasonable time already spent, non-recoverable materials or specially ordered hair, and lost appointment time that I cannot reasonably refill, less any costs I save. I will not recover the same loss twice.
Before I order extension hair or another bespoke item, I will confirm the specification and cost with you. Specially made or personalised goods may not carry the usual change-of-mind cancellation right, but this does not affect your rights if goods are faulty, misdescribed or not as agreed.

  6. CANCELLATION RIGHTS FOR DISTANCE AND HOME BOOKINGS
Where consumer cancellation law applies because a contract is agreed at a distance or away from my business premises, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.
If you ask me to begin the service during that period, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for work properly supplied before cancellation. If the service is fully performed during the cancellation period after your express request and acknowledgement, your cancellation right may end. To cancel, send a clear statement by WhatsApp or email using the contact details above.
These statutory rights are separate from the appointment cancellation policy below and nothing in these terms removes them.

  7. APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING AND NO-SHOWS
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. If less notice is given, or you are not available at the agreed place and time, I may retain a deposit or request a cancellation payment only to the extent reasonably necessary to cover my actual direct loss, after taking account of saved costs and any replacement booking.
If I cancel, I will offer a suitable alternative date or refund payments for services not supplied. I am not responsible for indirect losses outside my reasonable control, but this does not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.

  8. CLIENT PREPARATION, ACCESS AND SAFETY
Follow any preparation and aftercare instructions I provide. Unless agreed otherwise, hair should be ready for the booked service. Extra detangling, product removal or preparation may require additional time and an agreed charge, or may mean the service must be shortened or rearranged.
You must provide a safe, clean, well-lit working area with reasonable access to water and electricity where needed, and disclose parking or access restrictions in advance. Pets and children must be kept safely away from hot tools, chemicals and equipment. A responsible adult must supervise children throughout.
If the environment or requested service presents a genuine safety risk, I may pause, alter or refuse the service. You will only be charged for work completed and any fair, unavoidable loss caused by information or conditions not disclosed in advance.

  9. LATENESS AND APPOINTMENT TIMES
Appointment lengths are estimates and can vary with hair type, condition and the chosen style. Please be ready at the confirmed time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, I may shorten, reschedule or cancel the appointment where there is not enough time to work safely or without affecting another client. Any charge will be limited to the fair loss caused.
Out-of-hours appointments may carry an additional charge, which will be confirmed before booking.

  10. RESULTS, COLOUR CORRECTION AND AFTERCARE
I will provide services with reasonable care and skill. Results depend on factors including hair history, condition, texture, starting colour, home care and the accuracy of information you provide. Reference photographs are inspiration and cannot guarantee an identical result.
Colour corrections and major transformations may require more than one appointment. Extensions require correct maintenance and timely removal or refitting. I am not responsible for avoidable damage caused by failing to follow aftercare, using unsuitable third-party products, self-adjusting or removing extensions incorrectly, or receiving further treatment from someone else.
Nothing in this section removes your statutory rights.

  11. CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS
Please tell me during the appointment if you are uncomfortable or concerned. If a problem becomes apparent afterwards, contact me as soon as reasonably possible with details and photographs, and allow me a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, repeat or correct the service.
I will handle complaints fairly. Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, an appropriate remedy may include repeat performance, a correction or a price reduction. Seeking a prompt review helps me assess the issue, but no reporting period in these terms reduces your statutory rights.

  12. ALLERGIES, DAMAGE AND LIABILITY
You remain responsible for giving complete and accurate health and hair-history information and following safety and aftercare advice. I do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
I am not liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for a problem caused by inaccurate or withheld information, failure to follow instructions, or the acts of another person, except where I have failed to use reasonable care and skill.

  13. PHOTOGRAPHS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
I will ask for permission before using identifiable photographs or videos of you for my portfolio, website or social media. You may refuse without affecting your service and may withdraw permission for future use by contacting me, although this may not remove material already lawfully printed or shared by others.
I use booking and contact information to arrange services, take payment, keep appropriate treatment records, manage enquiries and meet legal obligations. Information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data-protection law. A separate privacy notice should provide further detail.

  14. CHILDREN AND CAPACITY
A parent or legal guardian must book and consent to services for anyone under 18 and must be present where reasonably required. I may refuse a chemical, colour or extension service for a minor if I consider it unsuitable or if product, insurance or safety requirements prevent it.

  15. EVENTS, BRIDAL AND GROUP BOOKINGS
For bridal, event and group bookings, the confirmation will state the agreed people, services, schedule, location, travel, trial arrangements and payment dates. Changes are subject to availability and may change the price. If a member of the group cancels, any payment retained or further charge will be limited to the actual direct loss caused, including non-recoverable preparation or reserved time that cannot reasonably be filled.

  16. EVENTS OUTSIDE REASONABLE CONTROL
If circumstances outside either party’s reasonable control prevent or materially delay the appointment, we will try to rearrange it. If that is not reasonably possible, you will receive a refund for services not supplied, less only any fair amount permitted by law for work or specially ordered items already provided.

  17. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
I may update these terms for future bookings. Changes will not retrospectively alter a confirmed booking unless we both agree or a change is required by law.

  18. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you also retain any mandatory protections provided by the law where you live. You may bring proceedings in any court entitled to hear your claim.

By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to read these terms. Nothing in them affects rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
